Community fundraising program

ACF Club

A community-first membership model being developed to connect supporters, participating causes and local businesses while creating more sustainable fundraising.

How it fits

Fundraising supports the charitable purpose. It is not the purpose itself.

ACF Club is an ACFP program designed to help community organisations build recurring support while giving members practical local value.

Under ACFP's agency model, 65% of each eligible paid membership fee is held by ACFP as collection agent for the member's nominated participating cause. That amount is separately recorded as payable to the nominated cause and is remitted in accordance with the cause participation agreement and ACF Club program terms.

Eligible paid membership means a successfully settled ACF Club membership payment to which a participating cause nomination applies, after any refund, reversal, chargeback or other exclusion specified in the program terms.

Program principles
  • Clear allocation rules
  • Participating cause choice
  • Member value through community offers
  • Local business participation
  • Auditable records and governance controls
How membership funds flow

Cause funds are kept distinct from ACFP's retained share.

The agency model is designed so the nominated cause's share is identifiable from the time an eligible payment is settled and is not available for ACFP's own use while it is held for that cause.

65%

Held for the nominated cause

ACFP holds this portion as collection agent for the nominated participating cause, records it separately as payable to that cause, and remits it under the applicable participation agreement and program terms.

35%

Retained by ACFP

This is ACFP's retained program portion and supports platform operation, administration, compliance and ACFP charitable programs. Separate terms apply to any prize-based activity that is legally authorised.

Membership payments are not donationsACF Club membership payments are payments for membership and are not represented as tax-deductible gifts to ACFP or to a nominated participating cause.

This page describes ACFP's intended operating model. The contractual and accounting treatment is applied in accordance with the final participation agreements, program terms and applicable accounting standards.

Current statusACF Club is being developed and tested. This charity website does not currently promote or sell raffle or art-union tickets. Any separate prize-based fundraising is only offered when legally authorised and under applicable permits and terms.

Why the separation matters

ACFP’s charitable purpose is the advancement of health and health education. Fundraising activities exist to help sustain that work and support eligible participating organisations; they do not redefine the charity as a commercial membership or prize business.

The separate Australian Community Fundraising website is being refreshed before it is linked prominently from this charity site.
